WearNow Symposium

WearNow Symposium
National Museum of Australia
and ANU, Canberra
2 and 3 February 2007

ANAT, Craft Australia and ANU are staging a groundbreaking event in early 2007 exploring both the current state and future directions of the emerging art, fashion and design practices of wearable technology.

Join us on Friday evening for drinks and an informal viewing of wearable technology art works produced by some of Australia’s most creative artists, jewellers and designers in the three-week reskin laboratory. Simultaneously we launch a special Wearables edition of Filter magazine.

On Saturday the Symposium discusses the history, innovations and future developments of this rapidly developing hybrid arena. Speakers include international guests Joanna Berzowska (Canada) Elise Co (USA) and Sarah Kettley (UK), and prominent Australians Stephen Barrass, Alistair Riddell, Robin Cranston, Cinnamon Lee, Oron Catts, Susan Cohn and High Tea with Mrs. Woo.

Discussions continue over dinner with the speakers and reskin laboratory artists at The Chairman and Yip - Canberra’s widely admired east-meets-west restaurant. Registration varies from $30 for the Symposium only (concession) to $110 for all events.
